Vieux Château Bayard has been in the same family for 8 generations and always run by women. There are 8 hectares, mainly planted to Merlot, with 25% Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine has wonderful brightness and freshness, delivered by early picking. 50% of the Bordeaux blend is aged in (old) oak and the remainder in concrete tanks.
